Frequently Asked Questions About Reservations

This page answers common questions about reservations at RENE Spa Bangkok, specializing in lymphatic massage and physical therapy.

Q. Can I walk in for a treatment? Do I need a reservation?

RENE Spa is a small private spa with a limited number of therapists and treatment beds, so all treatments are by appointment only.

Please make a reservation in advance. Same-day inquiries and reservations are welcome.

Q. I would like to make a reservation from Japan. Are there any options besides calling?

A: We offer three ways to make a reservation. We also accept inquiries by email.

Phone: 095-964-8484
(We can only receive calls made within Thailand. We cannot receive international calls. If you are calling from outside Thailand, please use a LINE call.)

LINE ID: rene8484
(Whenever possible, please make your reservation via LINE.)

Email: renebangkok2014@gmail.com
(We do not accept reservations by email. You may use email for inquiries, but replies may take some time. Please also note that emails from Yahoo Mail and some other providers may not reach us.)

Q. Can I make a reservation in Japanese?

A: Yes, we can assist you in Japanese, so please feel free to contact us.
(Please note that if our Japanese staff is unavailable, communication will be in English.)

Q. Are reservations available 24 hours a day?

A: As a general rule, we respond only during business hours (10:00 AM–8:00 PM).

Phone
We are unable to answer calls on our regular closing day (Monday) or during temporary closures such as the New Year holidays.

LINE
We will respond outside business hours whenever possible, but we are unable to respond late at night or early in the morning. We also cannot respond on our regular closing day (Monday).

Email
We are unable to respond immediately.

Q. Can I make a reservation through Facebook Messenger or Instagram DM?

A: We do not accept reservations or inquiries through Facebook Messenger or Instagram DM.

Q. I called the spa, but no one answered. Why?

A: Possible reasons why we may not be able to answer your call include:

Outside business hours (8:00 PM–10:00 AM)

All staff are with clients and unable to step away from treatments

Poor phone reception
(Calls may not connect easily during the rainy season. In some cases, missed-call notifications may not come through for several hours or even a full day.)

If we miss your call for reason ②, we will always call you back. If you do not receive a return call, please assume that the call may not have reached us due to reason ③.

In Thailand, telecommunication disruptions can occur frequently, particularly during the rainy season. In such cases, the incoming call may not reach our phone at all, which means there will be no missed-call record. As a result, we are unable to call you back. If you have not heard from us after waiting for some time, please contact us again via LINE or email.

We also use Wi-Fi for LINE and other online communication. However, Wi-Fi connections can also become unstable during the rainy season, so there may occasionally be delays or difficulties in responding.

Q. I contacted you via LINE but haven’t received a reply.

Even if we are unable to respond while providing treatments, we always check LINE at the end of each business day to review reservations for the following day. Therefore, except on our regular closing day, we normally reply within one day at the latest.

However, during poor network conditions such as thunderstorms, or when there are problems with the mobile network provider, there have been several cases in the past where LINE messages did not reach us until as much as a week later.

If you have not received a reply from us within one day, please contact us again via LINE (resending the message usually works), or contact us by email or phone.

Q. I have several questions before making a reservation. What is the best way to contact you?

A: Phone or LINE is convenient. However, if our Japanese staff is providing a treatment, we may not be able to answer the phone. With LINE, you can send us your questions, and we will reply when we are available between treatments.

We also recommend LINE because it allows us to communicate by chat and send you information and other materials.

Frequently Asked Questions About Payment and Spa Business Days

Q. Is physical therapy covered by insurance?

A: We do not accept any type of insurance. Instead, we do not charge VAT (Thai tax) or service fees.

Q. Can I pay by credit card?

A: Yes. However, there are some restrictions on the types of cards we can accept. A 3% processing fee also applies.

The cards we accept are VISA, JCB, Mastercard, Kasikorn, UnionPay, WeChat Pay, Thai QR Payment, Thai Payment Network, Alipay, and PromptPay only.

Q. Can I pay in Japanese yen?

A: We do not accept payment in Japanese yen.

Q. Can I pay by bank transfer to a Thai bank account?

A: If you live in Thailand and have a Thai bank account, you can make payment via a QR code using your banking app. There is no transaction fee.

Q. When is the spa closed?

A: Our regular closing day is every Monday. We are also closed during the New Year holidays (usually December 28–January 3, although the dates vary each year) and Songkran (usually April 12–15, although the dates vary each year).

In addition, due to national licensing requirements, our physical therapists are required by the Thai Ministry of Public Health to attend training sessions almost every month, usually for 2–7 days.

During these periods, physical therapy treatments are unavailable. Only facial and slimming treatments, lymphatic massage, and osteopathic treatments are available.

Any temporary closures will always be announced on our website.

Q. What are your business hours? What is the latest appointment time?

A: Our regular business hours are 10:00 AM–8:00 PM. However, as we operate by appointment only, we close once the final scheduled client of the day has finished.

The latest appointment time is 6:00 PM.

During the rainy season (June–October), the area around the spa is often affected by flooding, which can make it difficult for our staff to get home. For this reason, we may close once all appointments for the day have finished.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Staff

Q. Do you have Japanese staff?

A: We normally have one Japanese manager and one Japanese therapist at the spa.

Our Japanese staff mainly provide aesthetic treatments, including facials, slimming treatments, and osteopathic therapy. Physical therapy for muscle injuries and medical conditions is provided by our Thai physical therapists.

For physical therapy provided by our Thai therapists, our Japanese staff can interpret during consultations and treatments when necessary.

Any dates when our Japanese staff are unavailable due to trips to Japan or business travel will be announced in advance on our website.

Q. How many Thai physical therapists do you have?

A: We have three physical therapists. Two are currently available for treatments on a regular basis. Our third physical therapist is currently on leave while studying at a university in Taiwan to obtain an acupuncture qualification.

Thai physical therapists are known for having some of the highest levels of knowledge and technical expertise in Southeast Asia, and many people travel to Thailand from neighboring countries and the Middle East specifically to receive physical therapy.

All three of our female physical therapists have graduated from medical universities, obtained medical degrees, and also hold Thai national physical therapist licenses.

Before joining RENE Spa, they worked at a medical institution specializing in physical therapy. They are highly skilled and knowledgeable therapists who also served in management and team leader roles, placing them among the top-level physical therapists in Thailand.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Treatments

Q. What kind of spa is RENE Japanese Spa Bangkok?

A: Unlike a typical beauty spa, RENE Spa is a treatment-focused wellness spa dedicated to improving your physical condition.

With “Beauty & Health” as our core concept, our treatments are divided into two main areas: an aesthetic section focusing on facial and slimming treatments, and a physical therapy and osteopathic treatment section focusing on relieving muscle-related problems.

However, both are designed with the same goal: to improve each client’s current physical condition. Even our aesthetic treatments are not simply intended to make the face look smaller or reduce body size. We actively incorporate exercise guidance and provide care from both inside and outside the body to help clients achieve a healthier and more beautiful body.

Every person’s physical condition is different, and even the same treatment may produce different results for different people. We offer a wide range of treatments so that we can select the care that best suits each client’s individual condition and aim for the best possible results.

For this reason, we provide a thorough consultation for all first-time clients. We may ask about your medical history, medications, allergies, sleep, and type of work, which may surprise some clients, but these questions help us tailor your treatment appropriately.

Q. What types of lymphatic massage treatments do you offer?

A: Most of our treatments incorporate our original “MINAE Method,” which combines lymphatic massage with physical therapy techniques. The Muscle Activation Lymphatic Massage used in the MINAE Method takes three different approaches: relaxing the muscles, releasing the fascia, and improving lymphatic flow. Therefore, please note that all lymphatic massage treatments at RENE Spa are performed using our original method and also incorporate bodywork techniques.

Treatments incorporating the “MINAE Method – Muscle Activation Lymphatic Massage” are divided into four categories:

Facial Sculpting
Slimming
Full-Body Massage for Relaxation
Full-Body Massage for Fatigue Recovery

Q. Are there any precautions before or after a treatment?

A: Please finish eating at least one hour before your treatment.

For first-time clients, we conduct a detailed consultation. If you have any existing medical conditions, please provide us with an accurate medical history.

After your treatment, please avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise whenever possible.

If you have an acute condition involving inflammation, it is generally better not to warm the affected area, so please take a shower rather than a hot bath.

If you have chronic symptoms without inflammation, take a relaxing warm bath.

After your treatment, please drink more water than usual to support your metabolism.

Even if your symptoms are chronic, if you have heat or warmth in the affected area, there may be inflammation. In this case, please avoid a hot bath and take a shower instead.

Q. Will I feel sleepy or tired after the treatment?

A: After a treatment, waste products that have accumulated in areas of the body that are not functioning well may temporarily be released into the body. As a result, you may experience tiredness, temporary soreness, or darker urine.

In most cases, these symptoms settle down within 2–3 days, so there is no need to worry. As mentioned above, drinking plenty of water and getting enough rest after your treatment can help your body eliminate waste products and may help these feelings of fatigue pass more quickly.

After physical therapy or bodywork treatments, some people may also experience a temporary reaction as the body adjusts to the treatment. The body naturally tends to return to the condition it has become accustomed to, even if that condition is not ideal. Reactions during this adjustment period vary from person to person and may include temporary fatigue or sleepiness. These symptoms usually disappear within 2–3 days, after which you may feel noticeably more comfortable.

Q. Can I try a treatment simply for health maintenance or relaxation, even if I don’t have any particular problem?

A: Absolutely. Physical therapy and osteopathic treatments can also be used for maintaining and improving overall well-being. As some physical therapy techniques can be quite intense, we recommend osteopathic treatments if your main goal is relaxation.

Typical osteopathic treatments include lymphatic massage, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, and foot reflexology. Combination treatments are also available.

Q. What are your main treatment options?

A: Our treatments are broadly divided into two categories: “Beauty” and “Health.”

Our Beauty treatments are divided into “Face” and “Body,” while our Health treatments are divided into “Physical Therapy,” “Osteopathic Therapy,” and “Heat Therapy (Far-Infrared Therapy).”

Q. Can children receive treatments?

For children aged 5 to under 10, we offer “Physical Therapy Massage for Children’s Physical Development.”

For children who wish to increase their height, we offer a Children’s Comprehensive Growth Program up to age 16 for girls and 19 for boys.

Facial massage is also available. Children aged 10 and over can receive the same treatments as adults.

Q. Can couples or groups receive treatments at the same time?

A: Physical therapy, facial massage, and slimming massage can be provided to multiple clients at the same time.

However, for physical therapy, the first session requires an assessment of muscle range of motion before treatment, so we cannot treat two first-time clients at the same time. As we currently have only two physical therapists, simultaneous physical therapy for two clients is generally available from the second session onward.

We normally have only four treatment staff members: two Japanese bodywork therapists and two Thai physical therapists.

We also have only four treatment beds in total: two for bodywork treatments and two for facial treatments. Therefore, for group bookings, we may need to adjust the treatment menu or appointment times.

For two clients, we can accommodate most treatments. However, for groups of three or more, it is difficult for everyone to receive the same treatment at the same time.

If you are booking as a group, please contact us in advance with your preferred treatments and requests. We will do our best to arrange your appointments according to your preferences.
